This weekend I received my eagerly awaited copy of The Ride Journal, which a fixie “in-crowd” mate recommended to me. If you’re a cyclist, check this out. If you’re not, put the money toward a bicycle instead.

Until In Rainbows, I was what you could call a half-hearted Radiohead fan. As most others had done, I’d loved The Bends and OK Computer in the past, but had never really given the band as much time as I should have. In Rainbows caused me to buy tickets for the tour, and since seeing the band I regret not listening them more over the years.

Cloverfield is a film that has drawn many similarities with The Blair Witch Project due to the nature of it’s filming, but because of the nature of the plot, it’s a bastard of a film to review without giving anything away.

A film combining the talents of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp has a certain expectation attached to it, and this is no exception. It’s one of the most anticipated films of the year, and as a particularly large fan of the aforementioned chaps, I was excited.

Lust, Caution: A tale of espionage and love set during the China/Japanese wars throughout the 1940s. Ang Lee’s second controversial film in a row, this time the film’s graphic sexual nature making Daily Mail readers tut loudly into their tea.

People only know that he uses a ‘fuck off big pan’ and ugly Sneinton veg, but somehow, his stew reached almost national fame. The question is, is it the product of a spinster who works too much and has 31 cats? Or will Michelin chefs bow down to this anonymous figure, kissing his feet in return for his recipes? Intrepid reporter Greg Wood investigates…

Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino are two of the coolest directors on the planet, and I’m a rather large fan of their films. Planet Terror is one half of the double feature they put together that managed, somehow, not to get mentioned in pubs or talked about in the office, nor did it set fanboys into a frenzy. I for one, do not know why.

The anticipated Robert Zemeckis animation reached our screens here in the UK on Friday, and my good lady friend and I braved the Saturday night crowds to see what all the fuss is about.

The sequel to the Russian film Night Watch is Day Watch, a beautiful depiction of modern day Moscow complete with an undercover world of supernaturalism. People were walking out of the cinema half way through, but even the spilling of my cheese and chilli nachos on my lap wouldn’t have torn my eyes away.
